Dr. Henry Morris, co-founder of San Diego Christian College (Christian Heritage College) went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 25, 2006. He was 87 years old. Dr. Morris, author of a number of books on Christian evidences and scientific creationism, joined Dr. Tim LaHaye and Dr. Art Peters in 1970 to complete the vision of seeing a new Christian college on the west coast, that college was to become San Diego Christian College. The passing of Dr. Henry Morris was sad for the SDCC community. As a founder he brought forth this college to teach students the Word of God, its infallibility, and how science proves God. "Henry Morris was a mentor to me in college and in my adult life. He continually reminded me of the importance of preaching the Gospel to a desperate world and teaching our students to have a defense of their faith", said alumnus Jerry Huson. A service in memorial of a life spent "Defending the Faith" was held on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at the Shadow Mountain Community Church. A tribute was given by John C. Whitcomb and Tim F. LaHaye, with a message given by Henry M. Morris III. -- San Diego Christian College.
