Mr. Albert Frederick, 72, of Barbourville, passed away Monday evening, April 7, 2014 at the Knox County Hospital. He was a son of the late Daniel and Hassie Smith Frederick born on November 15, 1941 in Bell County.

Mr. Frederick was a former coal miner and KCEOC security guard and believed in the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, antiques and mowing yards.

In 1963, united in marriage with Loretta Mills in Knox County and to this union two children were born.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Frederick; a sister, Alice Faye Hurd; a brother, Don Frederick; a half-sister, Ada Hubbard and two infant grandsons.

Survivors include his children, Patricia Lowe of Artemus and Billy Ray Frederick and wife, Vangie, of Barbourville; a step-son, Shawn Frederick and wife, Tabitha, of Heidrick; a sister, Eunice Bingham and husband, Costello, of Corbin; a brother, James Frederick and wife, Rowene, of Salt Gum; 10 grandchildren, Joshua Lowe and wife, Dayna, Brandon Ray Frederick, Timothy Lowe, Aaron Frederick, Nicholas Lowe, Dylan Lowe, Austin Frederick, Timberly Frederick, Braylen Frederick and Brylee Frederick; four great grandchildren, Kensley, Kori, Jake and Hunter, expected soon; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, April 11 at 11 A.M. with Rev. A. Y. Mills and Rev. Donnie Mills officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Bargo Cemetery at Salt Gum.

Casket bearers will be Brandon Ray Frederick, Aaron Daniel Frederick, Timothy Lowe, Joshua Lowe, Nicholas Lowe, Dylan Lowe, Teddy Lowe and Brandon Simpson. Honorary bearers will be friends and neighbors.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Barbourville Nursing Home and Knox County Hospital.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Friday after 9 A.M. until the funeral hour.
