Alice C. Ross (Ann C. Brown), 85, of Troutdale, the Razor Ridge Community, died Sunday, 11 Mar 2001, at Alleghany Memorial Hospital, Sparta, North Carolina. She was the widow of Len Ross. She was born 3 Jul 1915, in Grant to Cicero and Minnie Ross Brown. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Charles Marchant of Staunton; a sister, Belva Billings of Troutdale; a brother and sister-in-law, Wesley and Pansy Brown of Troutdale; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, Virginia with burial in the Razor Ridge Cemetery, Troutdale. The Rev. Douglas Halsey will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Troutdale Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 160, Troutdale, Virginia 24378.
