A loving father and husband, Hill Howard Massengill, 75, of Germantown, Tenn., died April 9, 2014. Born in Covington, Tenn., on April 20, 1938, he attended Byars Hall High School and graduated from the University of Memphis. He was a member of Kappa Sigma and Emmanuel Methodist Church, served in the United State Marine Corp, and retired from First American Title.

A quiet man, his love for his family ran deep, and his compassion and empathy for all was unending. He will be remembered fondly for his ability to fix anything—bikes, washers, leaks and cars. He loved music, walks on the Greenline with his wife, golf with his grandson, fishing with his buddies, and gardening in his backyard wood box. Never one to miss a University of Memphis basketball game, Hill followed his wife around the globe to see the world; and down the street to watch his grandkids play sports. He left this life too soon, but not without leaving an edible impression on our hearts forever.

He was preceded in death by his mother Dovie Howard Massengill and his sister Carolyn Massengill Holmes.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Patricia Bennett Massengill; his two daughters Cindy Dorian (Tom) and Kelley Morice (Matt); and his six grandchildren Mathew Tommy Dorian, Tricia Dorian, H David Dorian, William Dorian, Caroline Dorian and Christopher Morice.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 12, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery.
