Funeral services for Leonard Zimprich, 63, of Grand Forks, were held November 25, at the Holy Family Catholic church in Grand forks. He died November 22, 1997, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Interment was in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Cemetery at Jessie., ND. Leonard was born August 15, 1934, in Jessie, ND, the son of Frank and Clara Zimprich. He attended school in Cooperstown and graduated from high school there. He then served in the U.S. Army and after being discharged, attended North Dakota State University and received a Bachelors Degree in music. He married Darlene Kopp-Johnson in 1963. They lived in Ulen, MN and Cando, ND, where he was employed as a music educator. In 1976, he and his family moved to Grand Forks where he worked in insurance sales until retirement in August of 1997. He is survived by: his wife, Darlene; sons, Joe (Debbie) Johnson, Grand Forks, Todd (Sheila) ZImprich, Fargo and Scott (Ann) Zimprich, Minneapolis; daughters, Lana (Mrs. Glenn) Parker, Colorado Springs, CO and Rebecca (Mrs. Terry) Harland, Cando; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank; 2 sisters, Evelyn and Lillian; and a son, Greg Johnson. Griggs County Sentinel-Courier, Cooperstown, North Dakota, Dec. 5, 1997
