ELYRIA – Nathan "Nate" W. Cox, age 49 and a resident of Elyria, passed away suddenly Saturday, April 5, 2014 at his residence after a long illness.
Nate was born in Lorain, January 30, 1965 to the late Frank B. Cox and Eleanor R. (nee Deering). He was a member of the Class of 1983 of Midview High School. Throughout his life Nate was employed as a chef, landscaper, and welder. He enjoyed camping, fishing, the outdoors, and cookouts. Most of all, Nate enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years Sheri E. (nee Lay), four children, Joshua of Elyria, Nathan Jr. of Colorado, Hanna of Elyria, Alex of Elyria, seven grandchildren, his mother Eleanor Daniel of Grafton, sisters Linda Cox of Elyria and Candice (Luis) Marcano of Florida, and his brother Timothy (Marylou) of Lorain.
In addition to his father, Nate was preceded in death by his brothers Steven and Phillip.
Family will receive friends Friday 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. time of service at Midway Baptist Church, 41812 Griswold Road, Elyria, Ohio. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst, entrusted with arrangements.
In Nate's honor and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home.
