Wilma Mae Bowman, 84, St. Joseph, Mo., formerly of Gladstone and Hamilton, Mo., passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2011 in St. Joseph at the Carriage Square Nursing Home. Wilma was born Oct 24, 1926 in Pattonsburg, Mo to Dewey and Mabel Willits Bowman. Wilma had worked as a bookkeeper from Strombert-Carlson, both of Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hamilton, and had been active in the altar society. Wilma loved her church, having her own home, taking care of her yard, flowers, and hosting family dinners. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Junior, Donald and Lloyd Bowman and a sister, Dollie Jones.
Survivors include a sister, Kathryn (Charles) Johnson, brothers: Jim (Mary) Bowman and Merlin (Mary) Bowman. wilma did not have children of her own, but loved the multitude of nieces and nephews like her own. Funeral Mass was held Friday, July 1 at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, Mo. Interment: Cope Cemetery
