Alma Louise Vaughn, 87, of Athens, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at Limestone Health Facility.
She was born Aug. 23, 1918, in Lauderdale County to Arthur Jackson Beddingfield and Dora Belle Richardson Beddingfield. She was a member of Cartwright Church of Christ. She retired in 1980 from Limestone Health Facility, where she worked as a nurse for more than 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Webb Vaughn; one son, Jerry Vaughn; one daughter, Betty Joyce Vaughn; and two grandsons, Jimmy Hudson and Tony McLemore.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Vaughn of Elkmont and Melvin Vaughn of Athens; four grandchildren, Michelle Garner and Angela Vaughn, both of Elkmont, Artie Vaughn of Grundy, Va., and Sharon Patterson of Rogersville; a half-brother, Hubert Beddingfield of Rogersville; two half-sisters, Geneva Green of Titusville, Fla., and Dorothy Newton of Killen; five great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Artie Vaughn, Rickey D. Patterson, Randy Roberson, Terry Garner, Preston Boyd and James Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Young and Elbert Young.
