Horatio J. Speck
Horatio J. Speck, better known in Huntingdon as Rash Speck, died in Calgary, Canada, on April 16, 1947. A resident of San Gabriel, Calif., Mr. Speck died while visiting in Canada. He was ill about a week.
Born in Penn Township, Huntingdon County, in April 1860, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Speck. He was twice married. His second wife is surviving.
In addition to his wife there are these survivors: two sons, Walter and Earl Speck, both of Dennison, Ohio; and a brother & sister, Dr. George M. Speck and Miss Anna C. Speck, both of Huntingdon.
Mr. Speck attended Juniata College. Early in life he worked as a capenter for the Huntingdon and Broad Top Railraod.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was of the highest degree in the Masons.
The funeral service was held in Dennison, Ohio, on April 20.
