Minnie Schluntz Matzdorff daughter of William and Sophia Schluntz was born Oct 7, 1870 in Monee, Ill She was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran faith.

At an early age she moved to Iowa with her parents, and settled in Brooke township. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 3, 1883.

On June 6, 1890 she was united in marriage to Sigismund Matzdorf and to this union eight children were born. Mrs. Matzdorfs died suddenly on Sunday morning February 28, 1954 at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 21 days

Her husband preceded her in death Aug 30 1942.

Survivors include; eight children Otto and Erwin at home, Anna (Mrs. Ed) Golnitz, Emil, Alma (Mrs Albert) Grashoff and Henry all of Aurelia, William of Alta and Lily, (Mrs. William) Hintz of Peterson, 24 grandchildren 17 greatgrandchildren and one brother August Schluntz of Imperial Beach Calif Also one sister, Mrs Annie Buddenhagen of Storm Lake.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm from St Pauls Luther church Aurelia Rev A Noack of Alta conducted the services. Burial was in Aurelia cemetery."
