Roscoe V. Dake, 82, of Iberia, died Monday at the St. Mary's Health Center (Jefferson City) following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1901 in Miller County, the son of William Riley and Agnes Abigail Humphrey Dake. He was married March 20 1976 in Vienna to Marshia Mae Deardeuff, who survives of the home.
He belonged to the Brays Advent Christian Church and the Iberia Lodge #410 AF & AM. He was a retired businessman.
Survivors include: five sons, Howard Dake, Edmond, Ok., Charley Dake and Jim Dake of St. Charles, Don Dake, Ft. Worth, Tx., and Tom Dake, Grand Terrace, Ca.; six daughters, Mrs. Linda Wede, Sunnymede, Ca., Mrs. Lula Stephens, Nevada, Mrs. Gladys Thompson, Dixon, Mrs. Gloria Martin, Vienna, Mrs. Lorene Burkhouser, Eagle Rock, Ca., and Mrs. Margie Pendleton, Jefferson City; two sisters, Mrs. Frankie Wilson and Mrs. Dorothy Wilson, both of Iberia; four stepsons, Lemoin Shepherd, Wentzville, Leman Shepherd, Foristell, Carl Shepherd, Dixon, and Harold Barnett, Crocker; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Catherine Humphrey, Iberia, and Mrs. Imogene Stone, Seattle, Wa.; 38 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 20 step-grandchildren, and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Brays Advent Christian Church, with the Rev. Earl Skidds officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Iberia. Visitation will be at the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Chapel.
