Herald Harmond James is the son of Barney and Mary Duffus James. Harold was married to Florence Heath.

Funeral services for Herald
Harmond James were held on
Saturday, November 15, at the
Larson Funeral Home. The
Rev .G. W. Reinmuth was in
charge of the service.
Mrs Harold Baird and Mrs
Glenn Sanders furnished the
music, accompanied by Miss
Loverne Erickson. Mrs Dan
Jeppeson, Mrs Alvina Hoberman
and Mrs Carl R Johnson
were in charge of flowers.
Attendants were Carl R.
Johnson, Fred Voss, Herman
Hinrichs, Obid Barnes, Eu-
gene Petersen and Dean Rogers.
Interment was in the Newell
Cemetery with military
honors.
Harold Harmond James was
born March 19, 1888 near
Newell, Iowa to Barney and
Mary Duffus James, and passed
away Novmber 13, 1958 at
the age of 70 years, 7 months
and 24 days.
He attended the schools of
our community and lived almost
all of his life here.
During World War I he
served as a wagoner in the
army in France from June of
1917 to June 1918.
On January 2, 1924 he was
united in marriage with Florence
Heath and to this union
three daughters were born:
Mrs Hazel Rutt of Phoenix,
Ariz., Mrs Neva Meinking of
Newell, and Mrs Marian Elshof
of Sioux Falls, S. D.
He enjoyed life as a farmer
near Newell.
He was a member of the
Presbyterian church, The
American Legion and the Veterans
of Foreign Wars.
Preceding him in death
were his parents and two brothers,
Ernest and Fred.
He is survived by his wife
and daughters, nine grandchildren,
three brothers, A D
James, Julian James and Edwin
James and a sister, Daisy
