NEWTON - Carolyn R. Norman, 97, formerly of Franklin, passed away on July 11, 2012, at Barn Hill Convalescent Center, where she was a resident. Carolyn was born in Pittston, Pa. As a young girl, she moved to Franklin, to become a nanny for the Moore family daughters, Shirley Montross and Naomi Kopnik. Along with their own families, they remained her devoted children for life. Carolyn worked as a seamstress at the Morley Shirt Co., in Franklin for a brief time, but throughout her life, she was devoted to her family, extended family and her church, The Good Shepherd in Wantage.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Edward Norman; three stepchildren, Jack Norman, Virginia Norman Masar and Betty Norman Strucko; three brothers, Sterling, Louis and Merle, and two grandsons, Jackie Norman and Jim Strucko.

Carolyn is survived by her brother, Keller Orth; her son-in-law, Joseph Masar, and grandchildren Jacqueline Masar Schlenger, JoAnne Masar, Nancy Masar Sands, Virginia Masar Ramberger, Sally Strucko Gilholm, Larry Norman and Kathleen Norman Keith, as well as 12 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
