John Tidd

B: about 1563, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, England; Died in Hertford, Hertfordshire, England [uncertain]

Son of Jonathan Martin Tidd; Husband of Anna Agnes (Dane) Tidd; Father of John Tidd and Susanna (Tidd) Wise

John Tidd, Sr who was born c. 1563, lived and died in England.[1] His son, by the same name immigrated to Massachusetts.[1]

John was born c. 1563 at Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, England.[2]

John married circa 1589 to Anna (Agnes) Dane.[2]

Children of John and Agnes (Agnes) Dane:

John Tidd, b c. abt 1591 Hertford, Hertfordshire, England, d April 24, 1656 at Woburn, Massachusetts; mar 1) Margaret Greenleaf, 2) Alice Unknown[3][1]

There has been some confusion about the death of John Tidd. He certainly did not die on 24 April 1656/7, as this was the death date of his son by the same name, who died in Woburn, Massachusetts.[1]

It seems that we do not have record of his death, but he may have died at Hertford, Hertfordshire, England, as this is his last known place of residence. He was living at Hertford c. 1591 when his son, John, was born there.[3]

The FindaGrave memorial for John identifies his cemetery as Saint Giles with Saint Mary Churchyard, Pontefract, Metropolitan Borough of Wakefield. West Yorkshire, England[4]Apr 05, 2014 accessed January 17, 2014 Unclear what is the source of this information, as there is no photograph of the grave.
