Anna Ruth Wilcox, 86, a lifelong resident of Benton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at her home.
She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
Those who knew Ruth will always remember her sense of humor, love for her family, friends and animals.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Curtis Wilcox; parents, Samuel Waldrop and Docia Ann Rogers Waldrop; brothers: Glen Oliver Waldrop and Audry Waldrop; half brothers: Biggs Waldrop and Parnick Waldrop; sister, Oma Fisher; and half sister, Willie Crabtree.
Survivors include her children: Danny Wilcox and wife, Ann, Linda Wilcox and Betty Ann Wilcox, all of Benton; niece, Veta Jane Fisher of Fort Meyers, Fla.; caregiver, Ginger Combs of Benton; and special friend, Ailene Wilcox of Benton.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton with the Rev. Joe Hatcher and the Rev. Art Thornton officiating.
Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
