Clarence J. (Oops) Haese, age 85, of Reedsville, died on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at River's Bend Nursing Home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1921 in the town of Rockland, son of the late Albert Haese and the late Amanda Ebert. He married Dorothy Schwanke at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville on Nov. 17, 1945. They farmed in the town of Rockland, moving to Reedsville in 1967. He then worked for Ed Reinemann & Son until his retirement. He enjoyed his place up north, fishing with his family and friends, farming with his nephews, dancing and listening to old time music. He also enjoyed watching football and wrestling on television, and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife: Dorothy; one daughter: Linda Underwood of Franklinton, N.C.; four grandchildren: Brian and Tracy Brachmann, Manitowoc; Dan and Tanya Soeldner, Green Bay; Vernon and Katie Johnson, Oxford, N.C.; Curtis Brennen, Naples, Fla.; also nine great grandchildren: Jessica, Arica, Kaylyn, Kristol, Ryan, Amanda, Tyra, Brianna and Siera. He is further survived by one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Donald and Betty Schwanke of Suring, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Roland (Hilda) Haese and Elroy (Ovella) Haese; two sisters: Louise and Gretchen Haese; and one grandson: James Brennen.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Collins. The Rev. Timothy Nommensen will officiate. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery in Reedsville.
Friends may call at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Collins from 11 a.m. on Monday until the time of service. The Wieting Funeral Home of Reedsville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
