Donald L. ‘Radar' Brady
Jan. 14, 1942 – April 3, 2014

Donald L. "Radar" Brady, 72, Gallitzin, died Thursday at his residence.

He was born in Philadelphia, son of the late George O. and Verna (Duffy) Brady.

Surviving are five children: Donald A. of Ephrata, John (Judy) of Jim Thorpe, Lynn Brady and Carrie (Don) Grill, both of Altoona, and Erin (Cliff) Cox of Gallitzin; 12 grandchildren: Owen, Rhiannon and Brandon Brady, Ashley, Joshua and twins Billi Jean and Georgi Lyn Harshberger, Mariah and Michelle Grill and Noah, Warren and Brady Cox; five great-grandchildren: Demi, Joshua and Gabriel Harshberger, Arianna Brady and Gage Myers; a brother, William (Theresa) of Ebensburg; and two sisters: Judy (Norm) Stevens of Ashville and Karen (Randy) Luke of Gallitzin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn J. "Carol" (Byrne), on May 7, 2005.

Radar was a member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, as well as the Cresson Italian Club and Gallitzin Moose, and he was a social member of the Gallitzin American Legion. He enjoyed playing pool, bike rides, hunting and car shows.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Albert Ledoux as celebrant. Committal will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.

The family suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Radar's memory.
