POMEROY
Margaret C. Kausche, a Pomeroy-area farmer and homemaker, died Friday at her home at Pomeroy. The cause of death is unknown pending a physician's certification. She was 83.

She was born May 8, 1910, at Asotin to Elijah and Anna Blankenship.

She was raised and educated in the Asotin area, where the family ranched up Asotin Creek at the Blankenship farm. She attended rural schools on Charley Creek, near Asotin.
In 1930 she moved to Pomeroy, and she married Floyd B. Kausche June 2, 1931, at Spokane.

The couple farmed in Garfield County on Kuhl Ridge, southwest of Pomeroy, until retiring and moving into town in 1952.
Her husband died Dec. 5, 1969.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Pomeory, Faith Rebekah Lodge No. 16 and the Mayview Home Economics Club.

She enjoyed cooking, reading and visiting with friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Charles H. Kausche of Pomeroy; two sisters, Donna Jones of Asotin and Alice Berry of Vancouver, Wash.; two brothers, Lish Blankenship and Erbie Blankenship, both of Clarkston; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Three sisters, Marie Quinn, Lula Autry and Grace Lathrop, a brother, Albert Blankenship, and a halfbrother, Joe Blankenship, died previously.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Richardson-Brown Funeral Home at Pomeory, with the Rev. Howard Neal of First Christian Church of Pomeroy officiating. The Faith Rebekah Lodge No. 16 will conclude the service. Burial will follow at the Pomeroy City Cemetery.
