Thomas J. Payne

This morning Thomas J. Payne, aged 76 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter G. Dixon, East Biddle street. Mr. Payne came here from Chicago and was an invalid for some time.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Sunday, the 11th inst., from the residence of his son-in-law, Walter G. Dixon, No. 343 East Biddle street. Meet at the house at 3 o'clock. Interment private.

Thomas J. Payne, formerly of Chicago, was buried from the home of his son-in-law, Walter G. Dixon, East Biddle street, at three o'clock in the afternoon. Rev. Washington R. Laird, Ph.D., pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, conducted the services, and Captain John Clark, of Company I, Sixth Regiment, N.G.P., sang two solos, "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Abide with Me". Interment was made at Greenmount Cemetery. The bearers were: Levis P. Marshall, William P. Lear, Caleb C. Lear, Samuel R. Ogden, Joseph M. Limberger, Alvin Allen.
