On October 24, 1846, she married Sylvester Scovil and most of her life was spent in the west. Six children were born to them, three of whom are living: One son at Leginere, Ind., one at East St. Louis, MO., and a daughter at Chicago. For many years they lived at Bedford, Iowa, where her husband died, July 28, 1896, after which she moved to California. Twelve years ago she came to make her home with her sister and for ten years had been an invalid, during which time she has been tenderly cared for by Mrs. Bassett and members of her family. The funeral was held from the home of her sister Saturday afternoon, Rev. Peinon officiating, assisted by Rev. Hamilton. Burial in Hope Cemetery.
