Salvatore J. "Sam" Battaglia
Salvatore J. "Sam" Battaglia, 47, of Hudson, Ohio, (formerly of Derry) died Thursday, May 11, 1995, in Akron General Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1947, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Antoinette (Catanzaro) Battaglia.
He was employed in management for Figgie International Corporate Headquarters.
He graduated from St. Vincent College in 1973, received his master's in business administration from Clarion University, and had previously been employed at Rockwell International, DuBois and Sinclair, and Valentine in St. Paul Minn.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen "Kathy" (McGaffin) Battaglia; two sons, Brian A. and Matthew D.; a daughter Deborah Ann Battaglia, all at home, and two sisters, Josephine and Rose Marie Battaglia, both of Derry.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday in Michael J. Quinlisk Funeral Home.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Church, Derry, with the Rev. John Wilt and the Rev. Kenneth G. Zaccagnini as co-celebrants.
Interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery.
Members of the Derry Volunteer Fire Company will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Members of all other fire companies are invited to participate.
