Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Faye DeSha, 63, Flint, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce E. Lyons Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Mount Nevelton Cemetery, Bullard, under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co. Mrs. DeSha died March 28, 2014, at Mother Frances Hospital.
She was born July 29, 1950, in Cherokee County, was a graduate of Whitehouse High School, Tyler Junior College and received a bachelor's degree.. She resided in Smith County more than 20 years and was a member of Mount Nevelton CME Church. She sang in the choir and served on the usher board. She served in the U.S. Army for 16 years.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Johnny DeSha; granddaughter, Destiny Roberson; brother, Ronnie C. Johnson; and daughter-in- law, Tanesha.
Survivors include her parents, Rather Johnson, Tyler, and Alice Johnson, Flint; one son, Tyrone Caldwell, Tyler; two daughters, LaQuita Caldwell, Flint, and Valencia Hatley, Dallas; two brothers, Quincy McCleveland (Joyce), Big Sandy, and Richard Johnson (Shell), Winona; one sister, Mary Lyons, Flint; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
