Early Life | Education: Janet was born June 5, 1944, in San Francisco, California, to Dale and Norma Audene Jones Yearsley. Shortly after Janet's birth, she moved to Utah and was a graduate of Orem High School in 1962, where she was very active in student government. Upon graduation, she completed cosmetology school in 1964.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Janet married her eternal companion and sweetheart, Ronald Alvin Benson, in the Salt Lake Temple in August 1968. Together, they had three children: Travis, Marie and Bradley. She was preceded in death by Marie and Bradley in 2006. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Janet served diligently among her many callings. She was an avid baseball fan who loved the game. Janet suffered a massive stroke on October 10, 2010, which led up to her passing. She was dearly loved. Janet Marie Yearsley Benson passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 1, 2014. She was 69.
Survived By: Her husband, Ron Benson; son, Travis (Wendy); sister, Merle Craig (Paul); daughter in-law, Tara DiGenova; and her cherished grandchildren: Victoria, Alyssa, Ashley, Sarah, Chloe, Nick and Marley.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents and her children: Marie and Bradley.
