US Congressman. He served as member of the National Guard of Ohio, and saw service during the Newark riots in 1877. He graduated from the National Normal University, in 1887, taught in the Greenville High School, graduated from the medical department of the University of Wooster, in 1891 and commenced to practice medicine. He was a member of the board of education, and was Mayor of Greenville, Ohio. In 1925, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-ninth and Seventieth Congresses, serving until 1929. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he resumed the practice of medicine until his death at age 80.
