Duane R. "Harp" Hartman, age 71, of Yorkville, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at his home. He was born on November 22, 1933 in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Alfred A. and Ethel (Hunt) Hartman.
Mr. Hartman was united in marriage on September 7, 1963 at the First Baptist Church in Aurora, Illinois to Evelyn Stephens, and they spent the next 38 happy years of their lives together until her passing on October 27, 2001. Duane was a member of the Yorkville Congregational Church in Yorkville, Illinois. He served his country proudly with the United States Army from 1954 until 1956. Duane taught both Junior High and High School, for five years, in the Chicago area. Duane was employed by the City of Aurora, for many years, as a Building Inspector.
Duane was a member of the Yorkville American Legion and the Tiger Athletic Club in Aurora, Illinois. He had also been a past member of the Aurora Moose Lodge #400 and a Volunteer for the Aurora Amvets. Mr. Hartman was a loving father, grandfather and brother, who will be missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his two daughters, Amy (Randy) Smith of Plano, Illinois and Beth Hartman of Yorkville, Illinois; his four grandchildren, Ashlee, Ryan and Briene Smith and Alyse Braun; his sister, JeNette Dutton of Aurora, Illinois; his nieces, Jodine (Sydney) Goldstein and Jennifer Dutton; and his nephews, Lawerence (Jenny) Ulrich and Gerald (Sonja) Ulrich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Ethel Hartman; his wife, Evelyn Hartman and his sister, LeNette Ulrich.
Funeral Services for Duane will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville, Illinois. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Yorkville, Illinois.
