He received his B. A Degree from Bowdoin College in 1905, a C.M. from McGill University, Montreal in 1908. Later he studied at University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
In 1911 he was admitted to the staff of St Marie's General Hospital. From 1930 to 1933 he was president of staff.
He served two terms as a member of the Auburn Superintending school committee. Since it opened he has been medical examiner for Androscoggin County Draft Board No 3.
He was a member of the Lewiston-Auburn Kiwanis Club; Kora Temple; Mystic Shrine; Masonic bodies and the Order of East Star.
He is survived by his wife Gertrude; a son Dr Alonzo Garcelon a recent graduate of the dental school and a daughter Miss Barbara Garcelon; three brothers Alonzo H and Louis of Boston, MA; Dr William S Garcelon of Dark Harbor.
