Mae's mother died tragically, shortly after delivering her 7th child, John, when Mae was only 7 years old.
As a young woman Mae worked at Marshall Field's on State Street. She married Patrick John Moran September 30, 1916 at Nativity of Our Lord Church in Chicago They had four children: Marian, Robert, Richard and Patricia.
She was very devoted to her family, her two sisters and one of her brothers lived with her their entire lives. She loved having her grandchildren visit and loved playing cards. She was a devoted Catholic, praying the rosary every day. She was a member of St. Leo's Parish for many years.
