Agnes R. Farley, 69, of West Chester, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Chester County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Peter J. Farley, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Agnes McKeone Rothermel. She was a 1962 graduate of Minersville High School and was the class valedictorian. She continued her education at West Chester State College and graduated with honors in 1966. She was a teacher at Pennsbury High School and Grove Nursery School. Agnes was a Girl Scout growing up, and was a Girl Scout troop leader for both of her daughters. She loved reading, teaching, watching Jeopardy, and doing crossword puzzles. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, nana and sister. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Angela Darlington (John), and Dana Farley; sisters, Shirley and brother-in-law, David; sister-in-law, Regina; two grandsons, two granddaughters; and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Lois. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 7th, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. A visitation will also be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Grove United Methodist Cemetery, West Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Lung Association 527 Plymouth Road, Suite 415 Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
