Greenfield, Daniel Joseph Age 48, of Plainfield, IL formerly of south side of Chicago, IL. Passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 with his family by his side. Born November 17, 1965 in Chicago, IL. Beloved husband and best friend of Michelle L. Greenfield (nee Shneider), married April 2, 2004; loving dad of Shane, Madison and the late Madeleine Greenfield; cherished son of Carolyn and the late Robert Greenfield; dearest brother of Robert (Jeanne) Greenfield and John (Geri) Greenfield; proud uncle of Robert, Sarah, Thomas, and Megan Greenfield, Colleen (Bill )Habel, Jack, Joey, and Danny Greenfield; great-uncle of Liam, Julia, and Charlotte Habel; beloved son-in-law of Irwin and Judy Shneider; brother-in-law of Jorie (Jason) Smith; dearest nephew, cousin and friend to many. Dan attended St. Lawrence High School, and DePaul University. Then received his Master's of Educational Leadership from American College of Education. He is a National Board of Education teacher. Dan was also a National Board Certified Math teacher and was on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Council of teachers of Mathematics. Dan was a teacher and mentor in the Chicago Public School System for nearly 20 years. He touched the lives of countless students with his talents. Dan was a dedicated fan of Notre Dame and the New York Yankees. In lieu of flowers, please keep Shane and Madison in your prayers. Visitation: Thursday, April 3rd 3:00p.m.-9:00p.m. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd. (Corners of Rt. 30 and Rt. 59). Prayers will begin Friday, April 4th 9:30a.m. from the funeral home and will process to St. Francis Xavier Church, Joliet, 2500 Arbeiter Rd, IL 60431 for a 10:30a.m. Mass of Christian burial.
