Andrew Zinsli an old resident of Butternut was found dead Saturday afternoon near his home where he had been sawing stovewood near the house. An inquest was held Saturday night, which established the fact that deceased came to his death from apoplexy. The testimony showing deceased had eaten a hearty meal and after taking a short nap went out to saw wood. He made but a few cuts with the saw when he fell backward and suddenly expired.

Deceased was born in Switzerland in 1822 and came to this country in 1840. He enlisted in the Federal army soon after the outbreak of the Rebellion, and sometime after the close of the war came to Butternut, taking up a homestead remained here until the time of his sudden demise. He leaves to mourn his death, besides his aged wife, a son Alfred, and two daughters Elizabeth now Mrs. Engelbeuger and Ellen McLaughlin. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon from the Congregational church and was attended by a large crowd who paid their last respect to the deceased.

The survivors disire to publicly express their thanks to those in attendace at the funeral or who rendered such other services as a token of their regards for the dead, and desire to say through these columns that it is their prayer that it may be within their power to reciprocate such kindness.
