HATHLEY, F. Theta - Of Mt. Morris, age 91, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, May 20, 2000 at the Whipple-O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Pastor Bob Burkey officiating with burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-9PM and Friday from 2-5 and 6-9PM with an Eastern Star Memorial Service being held at 6:30PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. Mrs. Hathley was born August 1, 1908 in Pine Run, Michigan, the daughter of the late William and Effie (Stevens) Habkirk. She had resided in the Mt. Morris area since 1988 coming from Clio. Theta married Josiah Hathley December 4, 1940 in Caro. He preceded her in death April 30, 1976. She graduated from Clio High School in 1926. Theta was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Past Matron of the Eastern Stars, Vienna Chapter 283, The Half Century Club in Clio and different card clubs. Surviving are: son, James and wife Sally Hathley of Linden; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Gregory Vanitvelt of Grand Blanc, Rebecca and husband Larry Colburn of Flint; 2 great-granddaughters, Hallie and Abbie Vanitvelt; 1 great-grandson, Collin Colburn; several nieces and nephews. Theta was also preceded in death by her 2 brothers and 1 sister.
