Rose Morefield, 58, Dies on Thursday
Had Been Ill More Than Year
With Heart Disease
Miss Rose Morefield, 58, died at her home Thursday morning at 10:45 a.m. after an illness of about a year with heart trouble. Miss Morefield was born in Elkhorn on Feb. 11, 1875. Her parents were Thomas and Genora Wales Morefield. Her mother died on Feb. 11.
She was educated in the Elkhorn schools, and was a member of the 13-23 Club. At all times she and a defender of dumb animals and a great lover of children.
She is survived by two sisters, Miss Alice Morefield, Mrs.Carl McAssey, Chicago; one niece, Miss Bernice Barnes, Delafield, Wis.
Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon, Rev. Leslie J. Tuck of the Congregational church conducting the services. Burial was in Hazel Ridge.
Pallbearers were Herbert, Henry, and Burton Wales, George Morris, Lee Welkos, and Will Farrar.
Among those who came from away to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Carl P. McAssey, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Frank McAssey, Richmond, Ill.; Mrs. Anna Smith and daughter, Gladys of Wauwatosa; Mrs. Raymond Robish, Milwaukee; Mrs. Carl Lange, Waukesha; Dr. and Mrs. H. T. Barnes, Miss Bernice Barnes, Delafield; Mrs. George Sprague, Ft. Atkinson; Mr. and Mrs. George Hatch and Mrs. Harry Liddle, Delavan; and Wells Church, Walworth.
