A. W. Haggerty Dies From Fall

Albert W. Haggerty, 86, Route 4, Farmington Township, well known livestock buyer, died Tuesday of internal bleeding as a result of injuries suffered when he fell from a ladder he had climbed to saw off a tree limb in his farm yard earlier that day.

His death was ruled accidental by Olmsted County Coroner Dr. Theodore O. Wellner. He died at the scene before medical aid could arrive.

Mr. Haggerty was a lifelong resident of Farmington Township, where he was born April 22, 1879. He married the former Emma Kenitz at La Crosse, Sept. 25, 1901, and was preceded in death by his wife in 1962. He had farmed and operated his own livestock buying service.

He is survived by one son, Kenneth A. of Rochester; one daughter, Mrs. Rufus (Jeannette) Schacht of Rochester; one sister, Miss Jennie Haggerty of Plainview; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Four brothers also preceded him in death.

Services for Mr. Haggerty will be held at 2 p.m. CDT Friday at the Webster Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glen McMurphy officiating. Burial will follow in Farm Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of service.

Services for Mr. Haggerty will be held at 2 p.m. CDT Friday at the Webster Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Farm Hill Cemetery. Friends may call until time of services.
