LEDFORD, JIMMIE NEWTON, 84, passed away peacefully on Valentine's night, February 14, 2009. She was a retired employee of Beth Haven Christian School where she worked for 20 years and a charter member of Beth Haven Baptist Church. Jimmie loved the Lord. Her faith was her rock which she clung to during both the happy moments and through the storms of life. It was her faith that inspired many to find their own calling. Her prayers were requested by people near to her and strangers she had never met. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. "Red" Ledford; her brother, W. L. Newton; and her sister, Louise Donelson. Survivors include her children, Jeanne Zavada (Mike), James Blaine "Sonny" Ledford III (Theresa), Dennis Newton Ledford (Nancy), Diane Steiner, and John Ledford (Linda Meyer Ledford); eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Leon, Frank and Mark Newton. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Beth Haven Cemetery. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Memorial gifts may be made to Beth Haven Christian School, Research Development International, c/o Dr. Mickey Sampson, P. O.
