Born in Concord, MA on November 1, 1949, he was a son of Roger Williams Hood, Sr. and Virginia D. (Durfee) Hood of Somerset, MA.
Mr. Hood was a graduate of North Attleboro High School Class of 1967.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Hood was employed as a quality engineer at Bio-Detek Inv., East Providence, RI.
He was a member of the Community Covenant Church in Rehoboth.
Sandy's love of the water showed in his sailing and restoration of old cars into boats. He had been a member of the Attleboro Sail and Power Squadron, where both he and his father had taught.
Mr. Hood was a six-sigma certification black belt, but most important to him were his children.
Sandy is survived by his children: Andrew P. Hood of Providence, RI; Jeremy Williams Hood of Attleboro; Heather E. (Hood) Bonin of Warren, RI; Meghan M. Chuk of Attleboro; Nathan A. Hood of Greenville, RI; one brother: Roger Williams Hood, Jr. of Wakefield, RI; one niece Kerry E. Hood of Wakefield, RI and eleven grandchildren: Julia, Jeremy, Jared, Kayla, Kobe, Olivia, Emma, Isabel, Abram, Tobias and Camden.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home – the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, ¾ mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Community Covenant Church, 615 Tremont Street, Rehoboth with Reverend Sean Smith and Reverend Roger Stafford officiating.
Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Hood's memory to a charity to be announced.
