Cassyle Crain Price was born November 5, 1923 in Sikes, Louisiana where she spent the early years of her life. After graduating from high school, she attended Bish Mathis Institute, a private business college in Monroe, Louisiana. The first years of her employment were in Winnfield, Louisiana, where she worked ten years for the Tremont & Gulf Railway. In 1957, she and her family moved to Shreveport and she became employed by Arkansas Fuel Oil Corporation and her last employment was twenty years with the Caddo Parish School Board, from which she retired.
Mrs. Price and her husband joined Brookwood Baptist Church in 1958, and there she sang in the Sanctuary Choir and with the Jubilation Singers.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, McArtis Price, Sr.; her parents, Ross and Ottis Moffett Crain; her step-mother, Irma Galloway Crain; and one brother, Cedric Crain. She is survived by her two sons, Charles Price and his wife Kay of Shreveport; McArtis (Artie) Price, Jr. and his wife, Leigh Anne of Marshall, Texas; one granddaughter, Katelynn Price also of Marshall; one sister, Carolyn Eason and her husband, Bob; three nephews, three nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Daryl Eason, Jerry Price, Terry Heinsohn, Marty Crain, Jerry Buckner, and Jerry Lewis
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Kidd, Devane Crain, Marvin Crain, and George Crain.
