Dave graduated from Valley High in Bingham. Following high school, he served in the National Guard. In his earlier years he worked for the postal service, delivering mail from Bingham to Jackman. He enjoyed traveling the route, helping people along the way. He then worked for Scott Paper Co. for more than 20 years. His jobs ranged from pulling in logs from the river to working in the digest room to sanitation.
He enjoyed being around family and attending family gatherings. Dave enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and motorcycle with his wife, Mary Jane. Dave enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping at Abnaki with his wife and family members. Dave also enjoyed square dancing and traveling with his wife. Dave always enjoyed the art of "dickering." Over the years he sold everything from pumpkins to wood stoves, and he would sell anything to make a profit.
