Ruth was born May 5, 1923 in Lake Shore, Utah, to Joseph Archibald Francis and Ursula Jones. Her mother died when she was age 4. Arch married Mrytle Bellows and they finished raising a family of 15 children.
Ruth graduated from Spanish Fork High School and attended LDS Business College. She met Walter T. Stewart on a blind-date in Southern California. They married in the Salt Lake Temple on December 14, 1944. They lived in several locations settling in Salt Lake City in 1946. In 1966, they moved their family to the farm in Benjamin, Utah. Together they raised 5 children: Walter Jr, Scott, Sally, Alexandra and Samuel.
Ruth was an active member of the LDS Church, faithfully serving in many church callings including 4 missions with her husband to England, Germany, Ghana and Sierra Leon (West Africa). Throughout her life she has enjoyed her club friends, neighbors and family including 29 grandchildren and 49 great-grandkids.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, at 11:00 a.m. in the Benjamin LDS Chapel. Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Friday, March 28, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork and Saturday, March 29, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Benjamin LDS Chapel
Interment will be at the Benjamin Cemetery
