HUNTER, Leslie ''Les'' Age 85, of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008. He was born August 30, 1922 in Petersburg, IL to Leslie and Sally (Allen) Hunter. He served in the US Army during WWII serving in 5 countries in Europe. He was Superintendent of Water Distribution for the City of Middletown for 30 years retiring in 1984. Leslie was a member of the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #0693 F.A.M.; Royal Arch Mason of Ohio Middletown Chapter #87 and Middletown American Legion Post #218. Leslie was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Leslie was an extremely kind and caring man, always ready to help his friends, family or community in a time of need. His family was his life, and he spent his retirement enjoying his time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Words can not express the loss of this blessed soul. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Leslie "Scoop" Hunter, JR. Leslie is survived by his wife, Burdia (Guffey) Hunter of 63 years; sons, Dan Hunter of Monroe and David (Jackie) Hunter of Middletown; daughters, Jayne (Richard) Alfrey of Trenton and Nancy (Bryan) Heidtman of Middletown; his adoring 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, March 28, 2008 from 12:00-1:00 PM at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Andy Ransdell officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
