Charles Sanson, son of Charles and Emma Sanson was born on 20 November 1887, at Trimulgherry, Secunderabad, [north of Hyderabad] India.
He became a pupil at The Royal Hibernian Military School, Phoenix Park, Dublin, and was enumerated there in the 1901 census.
Sanson, Charles, aged 13, born in India.
Upon completion of his primary education, he joined the 18th Royal Hussars (Queen Mary's Own) as a Musician. He was discharged on 18 April 1903.
He enlisted at Colchester, and was assigned to the Bedfordshire Regiment. He arrived in France in July 1915, part of the 6th (Service) Battalion, as a Private, and was a Lance Corporal when he died of wounds on 26 September 1917 which he received during the Battle of the Somme and the Battle of Passchendaele.
