Phyllis Jean Barrett Ade, 60, died at 10:25 AM Monday, April 9, 1990, in Murdock Manor, following a six-month illness. Born July 18, 1929, in Lafayette, she was a 1947 graduate of Jefferson High School. Her marriage was to George O. Ade on May 9, 1959, and he survives.

Mrs. Ade was a lifelong resident of the Lafayette area. She was a secretary for several years at Becker's Auto Sales, and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Surviving with her husband are a son, Tony Hughes of Lafayette; a stepdaughter, Vicky (Mrs. Donald) Gastineau of Lafayette; a sister, Bonnie (Mrs. Edward) Calhoun of Omaha, NE; and five grandchildren.
