She was born in Butler on December 14, 1946, to Charles and Anna Hoffman Walsh.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and an active member of the Kittanning Business and Professional Women's Club and was a past state president.
She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Sharon was a graduate of Butler Senior High School and was an alumnus of Clarion State University.
She retired from the Armstrong School District in 2006 after 37 years of service.
She loved being a teacher and her students were one of her greatest joys in life.
Sharon's love of animals, especially her two cats, Gracie and Babe, inspired her to financially support animal groups throughout the United States.
Throughout her illness, she was an inspiration to many and always reached out to newly diagnosed cancer patients to help alleviate their fears associated with treatment.
She made many new friends and was grateful for the wonderful care given to her by Dr. Cynthia Evans and the staff at the Butler Regional Cancer Center during the past five years as well as the staff at the VNA Hospice Center during her final journey to everlasting peace.
She is survived by one aunt, Verna Kriley, as well as numerous cousins.
The entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
