Prayer vigil for Pat Adamek, 59, of Southland will be at 7 p.m. Monday in Englunds Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Hemp officiating. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Hemp officiating.

Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Southland under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service.

He died Sunday, July 9, 2000, in University Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 22, 1940, in Cameron. He moved to Slaton in November 1943 from New Home. He attended school at St. Joseph Parochial College in Lawton, Okla. He was a bullrider in rodeos for many years. He married Jeanie Shelton on Oct. 30, 1964, in Tahoka. He was an electrician and welder in the metal fabrication business and had helped construct Jones Power Plant in Slaton, Tolk Station in Muleshoe and Lubbock Power and Light.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Monique Binford and Marlana, both of Southland; his parents Henry and Maries Adamek of Slaton; a brother, Henry of Bay Center, Wash.; two sisters, Janet Reynolds of Southland, and Judy Tullis of Plainview; and two grandchildren.
