Charles Ruppert
Charles Ruppert, aged 50 years, a former resident of Lonaconing, but who has lived in Cumberland for the past several years, died at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Allegany Hospital where he was taken a few days ago suffering from pneumonia. Mr Ruppert was for many years during his residence in Lonaconing active in politics. At the time the late William M McKaig was elected to Congress from the Sixth District, he was appointed to a clerical position in the treasury in Washington. He later returned to Cumberland where he has since lived. One son, Frederick Ruppert, residing with his aunt, Mrs Ricker, 417 East Pike Street, Clarksburg, W Va and three daughters, Misses Mary and Margaret Ruppert at St Rose's Tech School, Washington, D.C. and Miss Catherine Ruppert, 1635 Cliff View Ave; Baltimore survive. The body was removed to the Wolford Mortuary where it will be held pending arrival of his daughter from Baltimore.
