Chester H. Vaughn Apr. 27, 1923 - Mar. 19, 2014
Chester H. Vaughn, age 90, of Velpen, passed away at 2:12 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.
He was born April 27, 1923, in Ayrshire, Indiana in Pike County to John and Louanna (Fritz) Vaughn. He married Mary Ann Henning on December 6, 1950 in Otwell. Chester was a retired operating engineer and farmer. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #181, the Winslow Masonic Lodge #260 F&AM, former Marion Township Precinct
Committeeman, and current President of the Walnut Cemetery Association. He was preceded in death by: three brothers, William Vaughn, Clyde Vaughn and George Vaughn; one sister, Cleta Mae Vaughn; and one granddaughter, Laura Lee Ordiway.
He is survived by: His wife, Mary Ann Vaughn of Velpen, Ind.,
One son and daughter-in-law, Mike (Janet) Vaughn of Velpen, Ind.,
Three daughters, Kathy Vaughn of Marietta, Georgia, Linda Vaughn of Velpen, Ind., Carol Cherry of Lakeland, Florida, by (6) grandchildren,
Darla Sullivan of Lynnville, Kurt Vaughn of Petersburg, Melissa Vaughn of Evansville, Katie Vaughn of Velpen, Delorah Eileen Miller and Harold
Frederick "Rick" Miller both of Florida, and (8) great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Chester Vaughn will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Velpen, Indiana. The Rev. Wes Garris will officiate at the service. Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on
Saturday. A masonic memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Saturday evening, at the funeral home.
