Joe B Nelson, 70, formerly of Indianapolis, died Thursday. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Curtis Funeral Home, Winslow, with calling from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. He was a self-employed building contractor in Indianapolis for 30 years, then in Winslow for 15 years. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Survivors, wife, Gladys Martha Jane Scofield, sons, Leonard Eugene Goodwin, and Sam Nelson; daughters, Sherry Lively and Martha Jane Daves; sisters, Hazel Stogsdill, and Helen Bolton; brothers; August and Jess Nelson; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren.). He married Gladys Martha Jane Scofield on September 19, 1946 in Indianapolis, Marion County, IN, daughter of Guy Arthur Scofield and Dollie Sweet Mosier. He was the son of William Winfield Nelson & Della Catherine Dixon.
