She was a graduate of Girton Academy, Winnetka, Ill., and Vassar College.
Miss Jeffris was president of the Janesville Board of Education in 1938 and 1939 and of the League of Women Voters.
She was a member of the Women's History Club, the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, the Rock County School Committee, and the Greater Janesville Corp.
Miss Jeffris was a member of former Gov. Oscar Rennebohm's Committee on Education.
She had written several books, including "Lairds of the Land."
