Margaret Jane Jones was born on Feb 15, 1880 in Bulloch County, Georgia, a daughter of Bassel Jones (1824-1897) and Lavinia "Elizabeth" (Franklin) Jones (1844-1906).

She was the sister of Julia A. (1872); Jack Gordon "Bosen" (1875); Daniel Webster (1875); Thomas "Tom" Elick (1878); Martha "Nicy or Mattie" Elizabeth (1884); and Annie (1885) Jones. She was the half sister of Franklin (1852); John (1853); Sarah (1855); Joseph J. "J.J." (1858); James (1861); Henry Bazil (1863) and Allen Iverson (1865) Jones. She was known as "Maggie".

In 1902, Margaret Jane Jones became the wife of Aden B. Bland on Christmas Day in Bulloch County, GA, with Justice of the Peace S.W. Rountree officiating. They were the parents of Hansell Elizabeth (1907); Anna Mae (1911); and twins, Earl (1914) and Ernestine (1914) Bland.

In 1905, Maggie & Aden Bland were living at 414 Montgomery St., Savannah, GA. In 1907, they moved next door to 416 Montgomery St. In 1909, they moved again next door to 418 Montgomery St. In this year and location, their daughter, Hansell, died of carbolic acid poisoning. In 1911, daughter, Anna Mae Bland, was born and in 1914, they had twins, a boy, Earl Bland, and a girl, Ernestine Bland. In 1920, the family was living at 605 West 44th St in Savannah, next door to Maggie Bland's sister, Mattie Brunson. In June 1927, Maggie's daughter, Anna "Ann" Mae Bland, married Eason Winfred Donaldson. In Dec 1927, Maggie husband, Aden Bland, died.

By 1930, widowed Maggie Bland had moved with her 3 children from West 44th St to 20 West Hall St in Savannah where she and daughter, Ernestine, are not working outside the home, but Ann, no longer married, and Earl are drug store clerks. In April 1931, Ernestine Bland married Robert W. "Bob" Bennett. In March 1932, Maggie became a grandmother when Ernestine and Bob had a daughter, Betty Jane Bennett. In 1932, Maggie, Ann and Earl were living at 414 East 32nd St. in Savannah. Around 1935, they moved to Miami, FL including Ernestine, divorced in Nov 1933, and Betty Bennett.

By 1940, Maggie lived with her children, Earl, Ann and Ernestine, and granddaughter, Betty, at 520 NW 50th St, Miami, Dade County, FL. Betty recalled the backyard with key lime, pine & banana trees. Ducks would chase & peck her. Car in garage was their Studebaker & room extended in back was Betty's bedroom. Pineapple top planted that grew along with their garden. Window storm shutters for storms or hurricane weather.

Maggie worked as a housekeeper in the Langford Office Building. In Nov 1943, her daughter, Ernestine, married Russell Coxe. Around 1944, daughter, Ann, married Charles Mitchell. After 1947, Maggie lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Charles and Ann Mitchell, at 911 NW 56th St in Miami.

On May 31, 1957, Margaret "Maggie" (Jones) Bland, age 77, died of heart failure in Miami, Florida. She was buried in Woodlawn Park Cemetery, Miami, FL.
