On 3 June 1911 in Baudette, Stefan married Ecaterina Gabor (1888-1937), who was also an immigrant from Bucovina, probably from Tereblecea. In Baudette, they were known as Steve and Catherine Krusniski. They had two daughters and two sons -- Zenovia ("Vika"), Georgi (George), Peter, and Natalia (Nellie) -- but Steve and Catherine divorced during the 1920s, and Catherine reverted to her maiden name Gabor and their children's last name also was changed to an Americanised version of Gabor -- "Giber." After her divorce, she remarried in the 1920s to William Drobot and took her new husband's surname, but her children kept the surname of Giber.
Meanwhile, Steve remained unmarried for the rest of life, working as a farmer near Baudette until his death.
NOTE: Steve's obituary mentions two "brothers" who, however, do not fit in the list of his siblings derived from the Tereblecea Orthodox Church parish records. These "brothers" rather seem to be cousins.

A requiem Mass was offered at Sacred Heart church Saturday morning for Steve Krusnicki, a pioneer of the county, who died Wednesday morning at the age of 81 years and 12 days.
The Mass, said by the Rev. Donald Archer, was the first funeral to have been held here since the transition into English of much of the service. Hymns were sung by the Sacred Heart choir under the direction of Mrs. Roy Jesme.
Casket bearers were Wesley Hoscheld, Nick Marchuk, Edward Krause, Howard Peters, Russell Peters, and Fred Oberg. Interment was in Elm Park cemetery.
