Elsie Mae Fitchett was born April 3, 1914 to Jonathon T. and Maggie (Bellows) Fitchett on the Fitchett family farm north of Newell. She is the last survivor of ten children.
Elsie attended the country school one half mile south of the family farm in Coon Township.
On January 7, 1931, Elsie was united in marriage to Clarence R. Kuhn at the Methodist Parsonage in Pocahontas, Iowa. They were privileged to spend 68 ½ years together.
Elsie was known for her excellent cooking, baking and keeping a warm comfortable home for her family. She also enjoyed fishing any chance she got.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jonathon and Maggie Fitchett; her husband; sons-in-law, Bruce Bodholdt and Arvin Blome; a great grandchildren, Blair Lawrence; 1 infant brother, Tom; 5 brothers: Orson, Harold, Floyd, Alanson, and Paul; 3 sisters: Carrie Hansen, Bess Whelan, Nettie Witzke.
